Title: Controller
Location: St. Paul, MN
Salary: $150,000 - $165,000
Position Summary We are seeking a seasoned finance professional to take on the role of Controller. This position involves overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment with organizational goals. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
Oversee and manage all general ledger functions, including monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports.
Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the general ledger.
Execute bi-monthly payroll.
Manage budgeting and forecasting processes.
Compliance and Internal Controls
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and maintain financial reporting integrity.
Team Leadership and Development
Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to team members.
Strategic Partnership
Collaborate with department leaders to support financial planning.
Drive process improvements and leverage technology to enhance financial operations.
Partner with leadership to develop and execute financial strategies that support growth and profitability.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA designation preferred).
8+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
Public accounting experience is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies
Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems; experience with Deltek software is a plus.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
