Job Description

The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and systems for pumps and related equipment. This role involves creating precise 3D models, technical drawings, and specifications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet customer requirements, industry standards, and manufacturing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software (Autodesk) and generate detailed engineering drawings.
  • Analyze customer requirements and specifications to ensure compliance with functional and performance standards.
  • Work closely with engineers, machinists, and other teams to optimize manufacturability and cost efficiency.
  • Perform design calculations and simulations to validate component performance and durability.
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, including part lists, assembly instructions, and bills of materials.
  • Troubleshoot design challenges and propose solutions to enhance product quality and performance.
  • Conduct design reviews and implement revisions based on feedback from stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards (ASME, API, ANSI) and company quality protocols.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to source necessary materials and components.
  • Contribute to product improvements and modifications based on customer feedback and performance data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in rotating equipment or pump manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (API, ASME, ANSI).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
