Job Description

An international automotive parts manufacturing company in the Alexandria, Indiana area is currently searching for a motivated Production Engineer to join their facility. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with manufacturing process improvement and equipment implementation. This is a full-time, direct hire position.

Production Engineer Responsibilities Include:

• Analysis of manufacturing processes and equipment to improve efficiency and reduce machinery downtime
• Research and implement potential new equipment for manufacturing
• Collaborate with other departments regarding projects and process improvement initiatives
• Assist with training production associates on processes and machinery
• Creation of process reports and documentation for upper management
• Troubleshooting and maintenance of machines as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Production Engineer Requirements Include:

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field preferred, OR equivalent work experience
• Minimum 3-5 years’ engineering experience (including internships, co-ops, etc.), preferably within the automotive industry
• Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of injection molding equipment
• Demonstrated familiarity with industrial systems, machinery and controls, such as PLC, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, etc.
• Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Strong communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment
• Time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
